Steps: Before starting the procedure, place the procedure tray on a flat, stable surface within the sterile field and make sure that the NeedleVISE® sharps securing system is securely mounted in an upright position within the tray. Immediately following use of a
needle and while still being held with one hand away from the sharp
end, firmly insert the sharp end using a rotating motion into the
NeedleVISE® until the needle is secure. Make sure to KEEP YOUR FREE
HAND AWAY FROM THE NEEDLEVISE® SHARPS SECURING SYSTEM DURING
INSERTION. This action will lock the needle firmly into the
NeedleVISE® device. In some instances, Once the procedure is completed, the NeedleVISE® sharps securing system with secured sharps should be removed from the procedure tray and placed in a sharps container. |
Atrion NeedleVISE® 1-Port The NeedleVISE® sharps securing system is a multiple needle, single patient procedure use, disposable device used for securing the specialized needles found in procedural trays. The NeedleVISE® sharps securing system has internal one-way metal clips for retaining up to 5 used 17-27 Gauge sharps. The NeedleVISE® sharps securing system is intended for use in sterile procedure trays within the sterile field as a sharps securing device for contaminated specialized needles that do not have integral engineered sharps safety devices.

Steps: Place the NeedleVISE® Large-Bore Sharps Securing Device on a flat stable surface. Immediately following use of a needle and while still holding it with one hand away from the sharp end, firmly insert the sharp pointed tip straight down into the opening in the NeedleVISE® Large-Bore Sharps Securing Device until it stops, making sure to KEEP YOUR FREE HAND AWAY FROM THE SHARPS SECURING DEVICE DURING INSERTION. This action will lock the needle firmly into the sharps securing device. Dispose of used NeedleVISE® Large-Bore Sharps Securing Device with secured sharps in an approved sharps container. |
Atrion NeedleVISE® 5-Port The Atrion NeedleVISE® Large-Bore Sharps Securing Device is a single needle, single patient procedure use, disposable device used for securing contaminated needles. The NeedleVISE® Large-Bore Sharps Securing Device has an internal one-way metal clip for retaining the used sharp. The NeedleVISE® Large-Bore Sharps Securing Device is intended for use in various clinical procedures as a sharps securing device for contaminated needles when an integral sharps safety system is not available. |
