The Angel Wing™ Safety Needle System provides clinicians with a true one-handed method of blood collection to effectively help protect against accidental needle sticks.  The system design features a stainless steel safety shield which can be easily activated with one hand to lock over the needle immediately after withdrawal from the patient.  The superior needle sharpness is consistent with Monoject needle quality, ensuring a less traumatic experience for the patient. 

The textured wings are easy to handle even with gloved hands, and there is a choice of four needle sizes to meet a range of phlebotomy requirements.  Angel Wing Female Safety Transfer Sets with recessed multi-sample needles are available for use to transfer blood specimens from syringes into blood collection tubes.

Blood flow is observable through the moveable transparent protective cover. Following use the protective cap slides over the needle – implementation is evident via an audible “click”.

Greiner Bio-One has introduced the VACUETTE® “SAFETY BLOOD COLLECTION SET” that improves safety for blood collection personnel as well as increasing patient protection. Even when dealing with patients with difficult vein conditions, this product is a safer alternative to other conventional blood collection sets, it aims at simple handling and maximum flexibility. The vein puncture proceeds as normal and blood flashback is clearly seen through the translucent shield. However, following completion of the blood collection, the safety mechanism can be easily activated by pressing in both sides of the security lock. The translucent needle shield is then pulled over the cannula until it is locked in place. An audible click indicates that the safety mechanism has been correctly activated. The cannula is completely isolated and securely locked into a closed system. The needlestick risk is reduced to an absolute minimum.

Mechanics of the Device:

Grasp the Safety-Multifly® by the wings while performing venipuncture.  When blood collection with the S-Monovette® system is complete, remove the needle from the vein by holding the needle protector at its rear end with your thumb on top and your forefinger below while simultaneously pushing it forward until the needle is completely enclosed.
